romeoalexander.com is run by the author who writes as Romeo Alexander. When this page says "I" or "me," that's who it means.

My newsletter and bonus library

When you sign up, your email address (and your name, if you give it) is stored by MailerLite, the email service I use. MailerLite also records when and how you signed up, and whether you open my emails or click the links inside. That helps me figure out what you actually enjoy.

I use it to send you bonus scenes, new release news and the occasional note from me. The same goes for my German newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list.

When you send me a message

The contact form asks for your name, your email address, what your message is about, and the message itself. It's emailed straight to me so I can write back. It also runs an automatic spam check.

I only use your email address to reply to you. Sending me a message doesn't sign you up for my newsletter.

Facebook and Instagram ads (Meta Pixel)

I run ads on Facebook and Instagram. A small piece of code from Meta, called the Meta Pixel, tells me when someone who saw one of my ads visits this site and which pages they look at. It also lets me show my ads to readers who've already visited.

Meta may connect this to your Facebook or Instagram account, based on Meta's own privacy policy. You can control this in your Facebook or Instagram settings under Ad preferences.

Audiobook samples (YouTube)

My Audiobooks page has sample clips hosted on YouTube. If you press play, YouTube (which is owned by Google) may set cookies and record that you watched it.

Keeping the site safe

My security tools and my web host automatically log visitors' IP addresses and browser details. That's how they block hackers and spam bots. These logs are only kept for a limited time.

Who I share it with

Only the services named on this page: MailerLite (email), Google (visitor stats and videos), Meta (ads) and my web host. They handle your information so they can provide their service to me.

I never sell or rent your information. I'd only share it with anyone else if the law required me to.

Where your information is stored

Some of these services store information in the United States. If you're reading from Germany, the UK or anywhere else in Europe, your information may be transferred there. These companies use the legal safeguards required for those transfers.

How long I keep it

• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. MailerLite may keep a note that you unsubscribed, so you don't get added back by mistake.
• Messages: as long as I need to reply, then I delete them.
• Visitor stats: Google keeps them for a limited time set in my account, then deletes them.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

• tell you what information I have about you
• fix anything that's wrong
• delete it
• stop using it for ads or visitor stats

If you live in the EU or UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), the law gives you these rights, but I'll honor them wherever you live. Send your request through my contact page and I'll get back to you within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK and you're not happy with how I handle it, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle your information, I'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
